Zine (independently published magazines) making has always been a medium for marginalized groups to ensure that their voices are heard. In this workshop, participants will be able to learn about the history of DIY media making, and have an opportunity to make a collective zine about their own experience as trans children.
In the workshop, we will inspect the following questions: What stories are missing in public discourse about trans children? What stories or narratives do you wish you had when you were younger? And what conversations would you like to have with trans youth now?
This workshop is an opportunity to explore trans media, give space to discuss experiences, and share the knowledge we are embody with one another! And at the end of the workshop, participants will be able to take home their very own zines!
